David E. Cohen maintained a sole practice for several years, concentrating on representation of institutional mortgage lenders and transactional real estate. Since joining the firm, in addition to representing institutional mortgage lenders, he also specializes in the area of asset-based lending.

Mr. Cohen is a past vice president and present member of the Advisory Board of the Community Home Purchase Process Initiative, a nonprofit, cross-industry group formed under the auspices of the Federal Reserve Bank of New York to help eliminate barriers to home ownership. He has been quoted in Newsday and other publications and has spoken numerous times before legal audiences and the general public on real estate and mortgage related topics.

Mr. Cohen received an undergraduate degree in Political Science from Boston University in 1984, and his law degree from New York Law School in 1987. He is a member of the Suffolk County Bar Association Real Property and Commercial/Corporate Committees. Mr. Cohen is a New York State Certified Real Estate Instructor and has taught review classes for the licensing examinations for real estate salespersons.
