Neil M. Kaufman represents public companies, private companies and investment banking firms in their corporate, securities, financing, borrowing, merger and acquisition and other legal matters. Mr. Kaufman's clients range from early stage growth companies to mature public companies in a wide range of industries, including software, internet, manufacturing, distribution and services. Mr. Kaufman is particularly well known for advising clients with respect to SEC regulation, public offerings, private placements and mergers & acquisitions, as well as all types of commercial contracts. Mr. Kaufman often lectures and participates in panel discussions relating to the areas of law in which he practices. Mr. Kaufman serves as Chairman of the Banking and Securities Law Committee of the Nassau County Bar Association, a Director and Secretary of the Long Island Capital Alliance (formerly known as the Long Island Venture Group), a member of the Corporate Advisory Board of the Dolan DNA Learning Center of Cold Spring Harbor Laboratory, a member of the advisory board of L.I. Invest, a member of the steering committee of the LISTnet BEST events, and a member of the Corporate Board Member - Korn/Ferry International Next Generation Director 1000 Program. He formerly served as chairman of the board of Vizacom Inc., a publicly-held software and technology solutions company. Prior to joining the firm, Mr Kaufman was the managing member of Kaufman & Associates, LLC, Long Island's Corporate & Securities Law Firm. Before that, Mr. Kaufman practiced law for eight years with Lord Day & Lord, Barrett Smith, was a member of Blau, Kramer, Wactlar & Lieberman, P.C. and was a partner in Moritt, Hock & Hamroff, LLP. Mr. Kaufman received a J.D. from New York University School of Law in 1984, where he was a staff member of the Journal of International Law & Politics; and B.A. in History and Political Science from the State University of New York at Binghamton in 1981, where he received an award for Outstanding Academic Performance.
