Stuart Perlmutter specializes in securities and corporate litigation. He also has extensive experience in real estate mortgage loan transactions, including modifications, workouts, foreclosures and bankruptcy. He has represented Barclays Business Credit Inc. throughout the United States in loan transactions, lender liability, foreclosure and other claims. He has represented individuals in investigations conducted by the United States Securities and Exchange Commission, the New York Stock Exchange, the National Association of Securities Dealers, and other governmental agencies. He also has significant experience in the structuring of sophisticated real estate and securities transactions and has specialized in the public and private syndication of real estate-oriented investments. Mr. Perlmutter has held various positions at the SEC, initially in its offices in Washington, and later at its New York regional office, where he was chief attorney, Branch of Enforcement. Mr. Perlmutter is the co-author of an article published in March 1997 in the New York State Bar Journal entitled "A New Day Dawning: SEC Governed by Five-Year Statute of Limitations." He has also been a panelist in a seminar sponsored by the New York State Bar Association, "Real Estate Workouts and Foreclosures." |
